Anybody else feeling jealous of this adventure already?

So what is the Tandem Tea Tour?

Simply put, it is two best friends on a tandem bike called Babs (we love the name), tandem cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise money for Parkinson’s UK and Breast Cancer Care. Sounds exhausting, but everyone deserves a break, right? So the girls will be stopping off along the way to have a well-deserved cup of tea and slice of cake, and blog about the best tea shops they come across.

Setting off on the 4th of August, the girls will be covering roughly 85 miles per day; so we thought we would supply them with some Primal power for their trip!

Both Amanda and Jecca are actresses who met on site at a job over 3 years ago. Both girls work in the amazing world of Motion Capture where they get to perform in video games, television, and film, pulling off crazy stunts.

But what seems really crazy about this trip is that neither Amanda or Jecca are avid cyclists, and indeed have barely ridden a bike before! However, this should be no barrier to adventure or experience, and Jecca and Amanda are under no illusions that it’ll be tough. It always helps to know that you will be stopping for cake on the way too!

So why Breast Cancer Care and Parkinson’s UK?

They are two charities very close to the girls’ hearts. Amanda’s mum is a breast cancer survivor, and Jessica’s father-in-law was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year. Not only do such illnesses affect the person fighting it, but it also impacts on the family and friends surrounding them. By doing this Tandem Tea Tour the girls hope to raise both money and awareness for the amazing research taking place to find cures.

We wish them all the best on their ride (especially when the hills they will be cycling equal up to 2 Mount Everest’s!) and we are so proud to be sponsoring them throughout this journey. May the contents of our primal bars give you that energy boost throughout your trip, and the cave-woman power trip you need!

You can follow the girls’ journey on Twitter and Instagram, and through their daily blog posts on their website www.tandemteatour.com
